YMCA Foundation Awareness Tour - Positive Beginnings

Join us Friday, June 25, for the Positive Beginnings tour, at the Tennessee National Guard in Smyrna, from 10am - 1pm. We will meet in lobby of the Green Hills YMCA, and a bus will transport us to TNG. Michael Check and Henry Smith will conduct the tour and lunch will be provided.

Positive Beginnings helps youth involved in the Davidson County Juvenile Court system avoid the mistakes of their past. The joint effort between our YMCA, Metro Police, Tennessee National Guard and Metro Juvenile Court works to reduce juvenile recidivism rates, serving 20 girls and 20 boys each year. Youth referred to the program by probation officers begin with a summer Life Skills Camp designed to equip students with conflict resolution and good decision-making skills while cultivating healthy habits for the future. Life Skills Camp is followed by a 10-month after-care program that provides additional counseling, tutoring and family support.
